In July, the worldwide sales of the Škoda Auto car company increased by 17.4 percent year-on-year to 71,900 cars. Its growth rate thus only slightly slowed down from June’s 19.3 percent. This follows from the data published today by the parent concern Volkswagen. From January to July, Škoda Auto’s sales increased by 19.5 percent year-on-year to 504,100 vehicles.
According to today’s report, sales of the entire Volkswagen Group in July increased by 6.6 percent year-on-year to 773,400 vehicles. In the period from January to July, it thus increased by 11.8 percent to 5.146 million cars. This growth was mainly due to stronger demand in the Western European market, where sales rose by more than a quarter to 1.918 million vehicles.
In addition to Škoda, the Volkswagen Group includes a number of other brands. In addition to the flagship brand VW, there are, for example, Audi, Porsche, Seat, Bentley and Lamborghini.
Škoda currently offers customers 12 model lines of passenger cars – Fabia, Rapid, Scala, Octavia, Superb, Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Enyaq iV, Enyaq Coupé iV, Slavia and Kushaq. It operates three production plants in the Czech Republic, has production capacities in China, Slovakia and India, mostly through group partnerships, and also in Ukraine in cooperation with a local partner. It employs more than 40,000 people worldwide and is active in more than 100 markets.
