Volkswagen delivered 388,600 passenger cars to customers in October, a year-over-year increase of 7.7%. However, its sales are 10% lower than the previous year.
The entire Volkswagen group, which also includes trucks and buses, increased sales in October by more than 15% year-on-year to 691,800 vehicles. Year-over-year sales also remain lower from January to October.
Among the group that focuses on mass-market cars, Spanish brand Seat/Cupra also performed relatively well. October sales increased 20.1% year-over-year to 29,400 vehicles. From January to October, sales show a year-over-year decline of more than 22%.
In the premium car group, the Audi brand is mainly doing well, increasing its sales by 33.9% to 131,800 cars in October, but still lags behind the previous year from January to the end of October. A more contained increase in sales was recorded by the Lamborghini/Bentley luxury car brands, which together show year-on-year growth also for the January-October period.

From individual regions, the Volkswagen Group continues to do well, especially in Western Europe. There, October sales were up 36.8% year over year, but January through October sales are even lower still.
Sales in the Asia-Pacific region increased 18.1% year-on-year in October and also show moderate growth in the first ten months of this year. Sales in Central Europe decreased by 1.8% in October and from January to October they recorded a decrease of 35.7%.
