Škoda is updating versions of its best-selling Octavia and Octavia Combi models. It is the brand’s most popular model with over 7 million cars sold. The fourth-generation Octavia will stand out with new design features that include a redesigned grille and new second-generation LED Matrix headlights.
For customer convenience, even more standard equipment will be offered, such as a 10-inch digital display and Climatronic dual-zone climate control system. In addition, with the launch of the fourth-generation Octavia production, Škoda has increased the proportion of sustainable materials in the interior of the car. Additional safety and driver assistance systems improve active and passive safety, which provide greater options for individualization.
Klauss Zelmers, chairman of the board of Škoda Auto, emphasizes: “Our customers rightly expect a lot from Octavia – the new, fourth generation model takes our most popular model to the next level. Innovations such as a new infotainment system, new safety systems, wider use of sustainable materials and more efficient headlights make it even more comfortable for everyday drivers. I am confident that the new Octavia will surprise and delight drivers and passengers alike, confirming that it is our most popular car.”
Škoda Auto’s board member for sales and marketing Martins Jan says: “Octavia is the backbone of the Škoda brand. After four model generations and more than 7.15 million units sold, the updated Octavia continues this success story. With a modernized car design, new and improved driver assistance systems, as well as a modern infotainment and multimedia system, including a 13-inch central display for the first time, the new version of our most popular car will maintain its position as one of the most successful models in Europe. I am sure that the model will continue to surprise motorists every day with its versatility, attractive design and excellent price-quality ratio.”
A new impetus for the brand’s most sought-after model
The fourth generation of the modernized Octavia enters the next production phase with a completely fresh sense of purpose. The updated version offers a new, modernized design with redesigned front and rear bumpers and a modernized Škoda front grille. Also new are the second-generation LED Matrix headlights, redesigned LED taillights with animated turn signals and several new alloy wheel designs. The new Octavia will offer a choice between four equipment levels – Essence, Selection, Sportline and RS – as well as nine versions of the Design Selection interior.
In addition to new and sustainable materials used in the seats, instrument panel and door panels, a 10-inch digital display is now standard on selected model versions. The familiar 10-inch virtual instrument panel that was introduced at the launch of Octavia’s fourth-generation model is still available. For the first time, a 13-inch infotainment system display is available as an Octavia option. The artificial intelligence-based chatbot ChatGPT will be integrated into the Laura voice assistant as standard equipment. The integration of ChatGPT into the voice assistant Laura introduces a variety of new possibilities that are much broader than the voice commands available so far. The new Octavia also makes its debut with intelligent parking assistance and remote parking assistance. The engine range includes two 1.5 TSI petrol engines, optionally available with a partial hybrid electric system, two 2.0 TSI petrol engines with increased power and two diesel engines. The power range is from 85 kW (116 hp) to 195 kW (265 hp).
In addition, Škoda has further expanded its overall range of safety functions: the new attention and fatigue control system now uses various data and parameters to evaluate the driver’s behavior. The new Octavia is equipped with up to 10 airbags.
