So he started with a Škoda 1200 sedan, a car that began selling in 1952 as a successor to the Tudor. The first Škoda with an all-metal body later became the basis for a number of more and more variants. In addition to the four-door sedan, it was a station wagon, van, ambulance or pick-up. After four years, the twelve-hundredth was replaced by a more modern type 1201 with a more powerful engine.
David Sova took over the basic shapes and some proportions from the sedan from the 1950s. Its new Škoda 1200 thus still offers a rounded body, characteristically “convex” sides and interestingly sloping rear sections.
The design makes the strongest impression when viewed from the front: the design of the front grille and the shape of the bonnet refer perfectly to the original Škoda 1200. And interestingly, it works even without round headlights.
