INFOJAMBI.COM – In an effort to maintain oil and gas production in the Jabung Block, SKK Migas – PetroChina International Jabung Ltd (PCJL) completed the West Betara (WB) Non-Associated Gas (NAG) Compression and Condensate Pumping System project.

Apart from having a positive impact in maintaining gas production in the Jabung Block, the success of this project also supports the national gas balance.

SKK Migas Deputy for Operations, Julius Wiratno, on Thursday, August 26, 2021, inaugurated this project virtually, witnessed by the General Manager (GM) of Jabung, Wang Qilin.

Several SKK Migas officials, including the Head of the Project Management and Facilities Maintenance (MPPF) Division, Ardiansyah, the Vice President Management Representative (MR), Maria Sondang, the Head of the Project Management Department, Noezran Azwar, also attended the event.

Meanwhile PetroChina Jabung was represented by Vice President (VP) Supply Chain Management (SCM), Gusminar, Sr. Development Manager, Budi Tyas Utomo, Project Manager Slamet Supriyanta, and a team from the Project Department.

PCJL as the Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) under the supervision and control of SKK Migas completed the WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System project, to maintain gas flow from the West Betara (WB) and South Betara (SB) fields.

In his remarks, Julius said the WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System Project was one of the important activities in the upstream oil and gas industry that was successfully completed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With strong communication and coordination, compliance with the implementation of health protocols, good COVID-19 risk mitigation, and hard work from all parties, this project can be completed successfully and safely,” Julius said.

In the future, SKK Migas will continue to encourage the completion of other upstream oil and gas projects. SKK Migas is optimistic that although there are still pandemic constraints, the target of 12 onstream projects in 2021 will be realized.

“The successful completion of all project targets in 2021 will provide support for achieving the production targets of 1 million BOPD and 12 BSCFD in 2030,” said Julius.

Julius added that the continuation of upstream oil and gas projects in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic had a positive impact in supporting the government’s program to restore the economy, move the economy, and absorb labor around the project.

The WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System project which was successfully onstream on August 18, 2021 and went through the performance monitoring stage for 2 × 24 hours / unit so that the Commissioning and start-up stages of this project were completed on August 22, 2021.

The project onsteam time is one month later than the onstream target, which is July 12, 2021, due to mobility restrictions related to PPKM.

“Completion of the WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System Facility is important in an effort to maintain gas supply from the WB and SB fields, as well as continuing the PCJL program that has been approved for Put on Production (POP) 4 gas wells from the Baturaja formation with a target of 7.5 MMSCFD. , “said General Manager (GM) Jabung, Wang Qilin.

Furthermore, the achievement of a production capacity of 30.5 MMSCFD which is marked by the flow of gas using a gas compressor from the WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System project on August 22, 2021, is a fulfillment of the commitment to maintain the delivery of gas flow from the WB and SB Fields through the West Betara – Central pipeline. Processing Station (SWB-CPS) goes to CPS for further processing to produce gas sales.

“The achievement of the WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System Project in the PCJL work area cannot be separated from the full support of stakeholders such as the Directorate General of Oil and Gas-ESDM, SKK Migas, and all relevant agencies and parties,” added Wang.

With this success, the WB NAG Compression and Condensate Pumping System Project is expected to contribute to maximizing gas production from the WB and SB Fields so as to maintain gas production of 30 MMSCFD.

“PCJL will continue to innovate, improve efficiency and improve management aspects of project management, human resource competence, and engineering while still prioritizing work safety in fulfilling the targets for the completion of the Upstream Oil and Gas Project,” he explained.

PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. is the operator of the Jabung Block in Jambi under the supervision of SKK Migas. In managing the Jabung Block, PetroChina partners with Pertamina Hulu Energi, Petronas Carigali and PT GPI Jabung. Apart from being the operator of the Jabung Block, PetroChina is also the operator of the Bangko Block in Jambi. ***
