‘Skipped’ families still receive emergency aid packages

We also encountered many people who were not registered, but who really wanted a package,” says Van Throo. The organization has compiled a list of missing households that still wish to qualify.

The coordinator explains that many people have made a request on the fb page of Bureau Eenheid to be eligible for a package. “We have made a selection of these and we have included it in our data file together with the people on the miss list. The registration is now officially closed, because we cannot continue indefinitely,” says Van Throo.

The organization wants to complete Paramaribo. Most areas have already been completed. Three districts remain, namely Tammenga, Munder and Pontbuiten. The organization hopes to have these three jurisdictions completed in the coming week. Together with troops from the National Army, the members of Bureau Eenheid visited more than 150 addresses in Paramaribo and Wanica on Sunday.
