Chelsea Handler disagrees with former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin receiving a trial for the May 2020 arrest and subsequent death of George Floyd.
The liberal comedian and talk show host made her stance clear Tuesday when the trial of Chauvin, who was seen in video holding her knee to Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes during the May 25 arrest, continued in his second day. .
“It is so pathetic that there is a trial to prove that Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd when there is a video of him doing it,” wrote Handler, 46, as the trial resumed.
Chauvin, 45, faces charges of manslaughter and manslaughter in the second and third degree.

He later issued his ruling in response to a tweet on social media supporting our nation’s need for a trial process “or our justice system would be even more chaotic than it already is.”
However, the funny woman responded to the social media user in a follow-up tweet: “We may skip trials when there are audio and video footage of the murder.”

Handler was immediately criticized for her comments, as many of those who responded to her tweet said that it was not in the best interest of democracy.

Handler has been outspoken for years about how she sees the world. He intensified his focus on political advocacy following the cancellation of his Netflix series “Chelsea” in 2017.
Much of Handler’s impromptu remarks have come in the midst of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and his eventual tenure in the nation’s highest office.
