“That looks good!” Marianne Ott is happy and exchanges a card from the dozen that are on the table in front of her: she keeps a 2 and happily puts the 10 on the discard pile. Because the game “Skijo” is about keeping as few points as possible at the end.
So far, male teammates are still missing
The women’s group made themselves comfortable in a seating area of the library in Malchow. This is not the rule, because game enthusiasts usually meet every Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. in the museum café in the monastery. On the one hand, the campaign in the Werleburg serves as outdoor advertising in order to find other players and – if possible – also fellow players, because it is currently a purely women’s group. On the other hand, the idea behind it was to get children or young people excited about board or card games during the winter holidays. The ladies brought games for various age groups.
“Unfortunately, the number of participants remained manageable,” regrets Birgit Grapenthin, who has been with the playgroup since the beginning. The game enthusiasts have been meeting regularly in the monastery for two years now. If you are also interested, you are welcome to join us on a Wednesday without registering.
