Skiing vacation in Switzerland: 17-year-old fakes corona test – arrest

Wallis –

A 17-year-old Dutch woman apparently got bored in her prescribed quarantine. Without further ado, the young woman faked her corona test and wanted to break off. At the airport, however, the dizziness was discovered. Now she has to face serious consequences.

The 17-year-old was previously skiing in the Swiss canton of Valais. Shortly afterwards, however, she tested positive for the corona virus, which is why the authorities ordered her to be quarantined in Switzerland.

Ski vacationer arrested at the airport

Wait 14 days? But that was obviously too long for the young woman. She escaped from her quarantine and made her way to the airport.

Shortly before boarding a plane to Amsterdam, however, her plan failed. When the authorities realized that the woman had left, they informed the police. The officers temporarily arrested her at the airport.

Corona test faked: back in quarantine

During the interrogation, she admitted that she had presented a fake corona test with a negative result at the airport.

A criminal case was opened against the 17-year-old for violating the epidemic law and forging documents, the police also announced. She was then brought back to Valais in an ambulance.

Ski areas in Switzerland still open despite lockdown

Despite strict Corona measures, including a lockdown until January 22nd, ski areas in Switzerland should remain open. The cantons can therefore decide for themselves whether to leave the ski slopes open or not.

However, hygiene measures must be followed and capacities in trains or gondolas limited, the Swiss Federal Council announced.

In principle, German citizens are also allowed to enter Switzerland without restrictions. However, there is a ten-day quarantine obligation for those entering the country who have been in risk countries in the past ten days. (jv)
