Slovak skier Petra Vlhová has completed her first downhill training in the Austrian resort of Zauchensee. She took 35th place in it with a loss of 3.51 seconds to the leading German Kira Weidl.
However, the result is not important in such training. Petra Vlhová has been on long skis for downhill for a really long time, as she has missed all speed disciplines so far this season. How did she feel after training?
“Feelings are pretty good. It was such a training ride because I didn’t stand on these skis for a very long time. I needed to be sure. Understand the conditions and the snow, ” Petra Vlhová said in a goal exclusively for ŠPORT.sk.
The organizers have prepared the track really well, in addition to a quality base, the skiers can also enjoy the beautiful environment of the Austrian resort. “The track is very nice and the snow is really good. It’s not that hard, ” said Petra Vlhová about the complexity.
She moved to Zauchensee from nearby Schladming, where she took second place in the slalom on Tuesday and won a small globe ahead of schedule. She thus fulfilled one of her pre-season goals. So there is a great relaxed atmosphere in the team and Petra Vlhová herself has the same effect.
“I am just in a good mood. It’s all gone and now I’m here and I enjoy being able to be on long skis, ” she concluded.
The skiers will have their second practice on Friday, followed by a sharp start of the downhill at 10:45 on Saturday and a super-G on Sunday at 11:30.
