Persistent rain, temperatures well above zero and strong winds deprived most mid-level resorts of enough snow. Skiing is restricted, and many races will not be held. At the same time, their organizers believed that snow was a certainty in February.
For example, after Tuesday’s rains Principle at Jabloneck completely without snow. The organizer had to cancel part of the national championship in sled dog races. Months of preparation are lost.
“We hauled more than 25 truckloads of snow, Pthree loaders were racing around and 45 people were trying to finish the track with shovels,” says race organizer Miroslav Princ.
