Ryoyu Kobayashi, 25, finished 8th in the last round of the Ski Jumping World Cup, held in Planica (Solvenia). The Japanese scored enough points to avoid a comeback from his rival Karl Geiger who could not do better than 16th. The Japanese finished with 1,621 points against 1,515 for the German.
This is the second big globe for Kobayashi after the one won in 2018-2019.
Victory for Norwegian Marius Lindvik
It was the Norwegian Marius Lindvik, gold medalist at the Beijing Games in large hill, who triumphed on Sunday with jumps of 241.5 then 245.5 meters.
German Severin Freund, 33, who won the World Cup in 2014-2015 and the team gold medal at the Sochi Olympics in 2014, announced his retirement on Sunday after finishing this season in 30th position.
