The Austrian team for the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica could include Stefan Kraft, Michael Hayböck, Gregor Schlierenzauer and Philipp Aschenwald. PCR tests carried out on the athletes on Monday and Tuesday were negative. Head coach Andreas Widhölzl, who was also infected with the corona virus, does not want to nominate the World Cup team until Wednesday, and Kraft and Hayböck should do strength training beforehand.
The Planica team will be a last-minute decision, because training and qualification are scheduled for Thursday on the ski jump in Slovenia. Schlierenzauer and Aschenwald had already tested negative on Monday, their participation is considered very likely.
Those jumpers around Daniel Huber who only tested positive at the World Cup in Russia at the weekend have no chance of competing. After a return campaign they are in quarantine at home. Kraft and Co. had already given positive tests after the World Cup in Wisla (November 21/22).
