– ‘Iron Man’ Yoon Seong-bin (27, Gangwon Provincial Office) won the bronze medal at the first World Cup of the season.
Due to the aftermath of the corona, no attendance until the 5th round
Ranked 3rd in his first appearance this season
– Yoon Sung-bin took 3rd place in the 6th men’s skeleton match at the 2020-2021 International Bobsleigh Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup held in St. Moritz, Switzerland on the 15th (Korea time), recording a total of 2 minutes 17 seconds 32 during the first and second rounds. Alexander Gasner (2:16:85, Germany) took first place, and Martins Ducurs (2:16:86, Latvia) took second place.
Yoon Sungbin set the fastest 4 seconds 78 record in the first period, but was not perfect in driving, so he tied for fifth place (1 minute, 8 seconds, 61). Yoon Sung-bin, who finished with the fastest 4 seconds 74 in the second period, quickly crossed the finish line for the third time (1 minute 8 seconds 71) and climbed onto the podium.
The Korean sledding team did not compete until the 5th World Cup tournament due to Corona 19. It has been 11 months since Yoon Sung-bin participated in the 2020 World Championships in February last year. Yoon Sung-bin raised his hopes for next year’s Beijing Winter Olympics by making excellent grades despite his lack of practical sense.
Kim Ji-soo (27, Gangwon Provincial Office), who participated with Sungbin Yoon, ranked 13th with a record of 2 minutes, 18 seconds and 77 seconds. Jeong Seung-gi (22, Catholic Kwandong University) was only ranked 25th (1 minute, 10 seconds 28) in the first period, and could not take part in the second period when the top 20 competed.
