NEW YORK — It may be summer, but skating at a Central Park rink is still a great option.
Wollman Rink will host its first “DiscOasis” day for skaters on June 16. DiscOasis is a “shimmering disco paradise for the soul” and plans to be filled with music, art, performance and dancing.
The famous rink usually hosts ice skaters from October to April.
Visitors will be able to roller skate Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm and choose between day or night sessions.
Wollman Rink is a two-minute walk from the Central Park entrance at 59th Street and 6th Avenue.
The day session begins at 10 am and ends at 4:30 pm where skaters can choose to participate in a 1 or 3 hour session.
DiscOasis promises to “come alive” at night through an immersive experience. The evening session will begin at 5:30 pm and end at 10 pm
Tickets for the night include two hours on the floor, a dance party and live performances.
