SkateBIRD, the bird action sports game from the developer Glass Bottom Games, was introduced in the Wholesome Direct Showcase with a new look at the game’s accessibility options.
Lead developer Megan Fox tells the first look at the optimized control of SkateBIRD. The video shows how the input density can be reduced so that more people can enjoy boarding with the Birb.
SkateBIRD offers a number of accessibility-focused options to facilitate quick inputs and hand movements.
Players can toggle to automatically push when the ollie button is pressed, blend the ollie button with flip tricks / grinds / grabs to reduce right-hand input, and change the game speed to suit their experience adapt.
“SkateBIRD is about doing your best and we want to make sure everyone can shred,” said Megan Fox. “We hope that our accessibility options will allow players to have the best experience possible.”
SkateBIRD will flutter on August 12th, 2021 on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S via backward compatibility and PC via Steam, Itch.io, Xbox Game Pass and Amazon Luna.
