“Skaņu mežs” becomes the co-curator of Tallinn Music Week – Music

Tallinn Music Week, an international music festival that will take place from September 29 to October 3, has announced this year’s music program.

155 artists from 16 countries, 11 of whom are from Latvia, will take part in the festival. The festival of unaccustomed music “Sound Forest” has become the main cooperation partner and creator of the program from Latvia. This year, Latvia will be represented at the festival by experimental pop music figures Sign Libra and Evija Vēbere (pictured), dark atmospheric music associations “Pamirt” and “+ K + M + B”, jazz band “The Coco’nuts”, as well as Gints Smukais. The festival also includes a solo performance by the leader of the group Nikto “Aleksandrs Aleksandrovs”, a performance of a new project “Matadata”, participation of Dj Monst and Laima Jansone’s joint project “ZeMe” in a folk music evening, as well as performances by heavy metal music by Oghre and Devil concerts.

World Music Stars 2021 will feature world-class stars such as A Place To Bury Strangers and DVS1 from the US, Hatari from Iceland, Danish punk rock bleach Iceage, Palestinian musician Bashir Murad and Finnish accordionist Anti Palanens. Representatives of the new and experimental stage and innovative performers will perform on October 2 at the Tallinn House of Blackheads. Here, for the first time, the Latvian Unaccustomed Music and Art Festival “Sound Forest” will present its program in cooperation with the Estonian Festival “Üle Heli”. It should be added that this year the festival “Sound Forest” has become the only curator of the program representing Latvia.
