Skånska Dagbladet | Sweden six after Norwegian-Russian gold fight

Norway’s first team, with Johannes Høsflot Klæbo on the final stretch, won the sprint deal with the Russian Sergej Ustiugov. In the finish, the difference was 0.2 seconds.

– It was very tough, the conditions were tough and Sergei was very strong. It was a good fight and fun to get over the finish line first and win as a team, says Klæbo in the victory interview.

Norway’s third team came third, 1.2 seconds behind and Russia’s first team came fourth, another two tenths behind.

Italy came fifth, just over 55 seconds behind, and Sweden’s first team, with William Poromaa on the final leg, came sixth, another three seconds behind.

The team also had Fredrik Jonsson, Calle Halfvarsson and Leo Johansson driving.

Halfvarsson brought the team up six places, to sixth place, and took eleven seconds in the lead on his second leg. He was much happier than after Friday’s 15 kilometers where he came in 40th place.

– It felt better today and I could do better on the last lap. Today I had really good stuff under my feet. It was a real step forward, a good receipt, he says to TV6.

The incomplete second team, with Fredrik Andersson, George Ersson and Johan Herbert, stepped down after three distances.
