BRATISLAVA – The footballers of SK Slovan Bratislava are missing the last step towards fulfilling their first pre-season goal, which is to enter the group stage of one of the European club competitions.
If the Slovak champions manage Tuesday’s rematch of the 2nd preliminary round of the Champions League against HŠK Zrinjski Mostar and advance, they will secure at least ten more matches in cup Europe until December.
The Whites will enter the home match with a 1-0 lead, which they built last Tuesday in Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks to a goal by Sharani Zuberu.
In retaliation, coach Vladimír Weiss sr. count on midfielder Juraj Kuck, whose two-game suspension for biting a player from Luxemburg Swift Hesperange has expired. The winner of the double match will play in the 3rd preliminary round against the more successful team from the fight Šeriff Tiraspol – Maccabi Haifa (first match 1:0), the defeated team awaits a move to the 3rd preliminary round of the European League. In it, his opponent will be the defeated team from the double match between Breidablik and FC Copenhagen (first match 0:2).
