SK Miet Tech Wullersdorf had been waiting for a competitive win for more than half a year. In the second half of the season they only got two points until Friday and the relegation specter already greeted them. Last Friday we saw how much can change in a single day.
Because the Wullersdorfer won the first three in spring, were able to defeat Muckendorf/Zeiselmauer 1-0 and remained without a goal for the first time since the end of March. This puts SKW in twelfth place, one point ahead of Marchfeld II. There was also support from the 2nd state league: Bisamberg surprisingly won against second-placed Wolkersdorfer, which means that FCB will no longer have anything to do with relegation. Thus, only one team from the area league will be relegated. “The fear of relegation is gone because the others also played for us,” coach Walter Pöltl was relieved.
Gold goalscorer Vesely remains with the SKW
Marek Vesely scored the decisive 1:0 in the 84th minute. Vesely will also play for Wullersdorfer in the coming season, as chairman Markus Semmelmeyer announced: “We are happy that the goalscorer has extended his contract with us. An important building block for the next year.” With Simon Fürnkranz, the second central defender also remains.
Coach Pöltl explained in turn that the team first had to get used to the feeling of winning again: “When I’m used to winning, it’s easy to be happy. Now it’s still difficult because it’s just not everyday. But the upswing has been evident for weeks.”
