SK Group will show off its core future growth engines, carbon reduction and artificial intelligence (AI) technology and business capabilities, at ‘CES 2024’, the world’s largest electronics and information technology (IT) exhibition, which opens on the 9th (local time). A large number of group executives, including Chairman Chey Tae-won, who is visiting CES for the second year in a row, are expected to participate and seek ways to cooperate.
Chairman Choi will attend CES 2024 held in Las Vegas, USA on the 9th, touring the SK Group pavilion as well as major domestic and overseas corporate pavilions and looking at cutting-edge technology trends such as eco-friendly solutions.
We plan to discuss carbon reduction and AI cooperation measures through business meetings with some global companies. As Chairman Choi emphasized the need for ‘AI solutions for the environment’, he is expected to talk about providing global companies with solution packages from an energy, AI, and environment perspective.
The group’s CEOs also travel around the CES site and meet global companies. Choi Jae-won, CEO and Senior Vice Chairman of SK On, inspects the status of mobility trends and new technologies and plans future business through meetings with global customers. SK Telecom President Yoo Young-sang, SK Eco Plant President Park Kyung-il, and SK C&C President Yoon Poong-young are also planning to hold business meetings with partner companies from each company. Kim Dong-hyeon, in charge of SK USA, said, “Over the five times we have participated in CES, the number of global companies and investors requesting to meet us has increased significantly.” He added, “Interest has increased as SK is conducting business with various partners in the United States.” SK operates not only batteries but also recycling plants in the U.S. and is carrying out major eco-friendly projects such as hydrogen with several partners.
SK operates the 560 pyeong ‘SK Group Integrated Exhibition Hall’ decorated with a theme park concept. A separate 160-pyeong ‘SK ICT Family Demo Room’ will also be set up to introduce various AI technologies.
The integrated exhibition hall features exhibits for each member, including a train that runs on hydrogen fuel cell ‘ZenDrive’ as an energy source, ‘AI Fortune Teller’ that predicts fortunes through AI technology, and ‘Magic Carpet’ that allows users to experience Urban Air Mobility (UAM). The company’s businesses are organized so that visitors can see and experience them at a glance. We will also introduce various materials for electric vehicles, such as HBM3E, the highest-performance high-bandwidth memory (HBM) in existence, as well as copper foil and silicon anode materials.
The SK ICT Family Demo Room is jointly operated by SK Hynix and SK Telecom. The demo room features SK Telecom’s core AI technologies such as the next-generation AI data center (DC) model, AI media studio, and pet AI diagnostic assistance service ‘X Caliber’, as well as Sapion’s latest AI semiconductor X330 and SK Hynix’s A total of 10 AI services and technologies, including semiconductor technology, will be introduced.

SK On is the only Korean battery company to participate in CES. SK On plans to showcase its electric vehicle battery technology in ‘Dancing Car’, the third area of the integrated exhibition hall ‘SK Wonderland’. Dancing Car is a corner featuring a full-scale car model hanging on a robot arm and a video of a regular internal combustion engine car transforming into a high-performance electric car and racing.
