SK Bioscience Wins US$31.3 Million Order to Provide Varicella Vaccines to Latin America

SEOUL, May 23 (Yonhap) — South Korean vaccine maker SK Bioscience Co. announced Monday that it has won a $31.3 million order from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). , to provide varicella vaccines to Latin America.

SK Bioscience said that, through PAHO, it recently delivered to Latin American countries its first batch of shipments of SKY Varicella, the company’s chickenpox vaccine, introduced in 2018.

SK Bioscience noted that it won the request from PAHO in February.

PAHO is an international public health agency that works to improve health standards for the people of the Americas. It belongs to the United Nations system, serving as a regional office for America of the World Health Organization (WHO).

In 2019, SKY Varicella, from SK Bioscience, received WHO pre-approval, a requirement to become a supplier to PAHO and other international organizations.
