Sjef Schurgers (62), founding father of Oktoberfest and Sint Rosafestival in Sittard, died.

The group behind the Oktoberfest Sittard and the Sint Rosafestival has responded. They name it “the worst information we might quite not share.” Schurgers “was an inspiration to many”, they write.

“Nobody else on the town had as a lot ardour because the occasions he organized, the ‘youngsters’. These youngsters now have to hold on with out him. His colleagues, who’ve been working with him for years, organizing the occasions in his title. All the time with Sjef in thoughts,” the 2 teams wrote.
