A six-year-old boy shot his teacher in an American elementary school on Friday afternoon. She was seriously injured and was taken to hospital in critical condition, US media reported. Police arrested the six-year-old boy.
The shooting occurred at an elementary school in Newport News, Virginia. The teacher, who is thirty, is “in danger of life”. A police spokesman said “there was no accident here”. The boy fired a pistol. We are investigating where it came from.
Authorities are still investigating the whereabouts of the six-year-old boy. He is in police custody and they are considering how “this young man can best be helped”.
The mayor of the city, Phillip Jones, says the incident touched his heart. “This is a dark day, but we will learn from this and come back stronger,” Jones said.
