Six van occupants arrested for causing accident

Six people were arrested on the A58 yesterday afternoon. They were in a delivery van that had caused an accident on the highway near Waarde in Zeeland. The police say that all occupants have been arrested because it is not clear who the driver was.

The bus drove at high speed on the emergency lane around 5:20 p.m. to avoid the traffic jam. When a truck passed, the van ended up with its wheels on the verge. The driver lost control of the car and hit the guardrail. Three passenger cars were hit.

Two people were taken to hospital: a driver and a passenger in the van. Two drivers of the other passenger cars were checked on the spot by paramedics.
