The goods worth 48,000 euros were sold in Vorarlberg, and the first Romanian has now been convicted.
In April of this year, six tons of scrap metal were stolen in the canton of Zurich. The company van was gone along with the copper. A little later, the coveted metal was offered by the Romanians in Vorarlberg.

Two of the three perpetrators once worked for a Vorarlberg security company, so they were responsible for burglary protection for companies and private homes. But now the 52-year-old, who has multiple previous convictions, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for receiving stolen goods, money laundering and criminal association.

He admits that he helped unload the copper in Götzis. He claims he didn’t know the metal was stolen. He got 200 euros. The other perpetrators or suspects are either related to the man or well known. The Romanian group is said to have committed a number of burglaries in Vorarlberg, and the 52-year-old has now started the conviction. He still wants to think carefully about the verdict, because – in his opinion – he is completely innocent. The judgment is not final.
