Six schools labeled “Healthy School” • TNTV Tahiti Nui Television

The Minister of Health, Jacques Raynal, and the Minister of Education, Christelle Lehartel, were present on Tuesday morning at the labeling ceremony of the “Healthy School” device, which took place at the assembly of the French Polynesia.

The goal of the “Healthy School” system in French Polynesia is to promote health at school by acting on the determinants of health accessible at school, and by developing students’ psycho-social skills, through the implementation of ten targeted actions. The implementation of these actions will allow the school to obtain, after the opinion of a jury, the “Healthy School” label.

This year, six schools in the educational district of Papeete-Pirae have joined the system: Pina’i, To’ata, Taimoana, Heitama, Mamao and Ta’aone.

These establishments have implemented actions relating to the ten determinants most closely linked to health: food, physical activities, personal hygiene, pace of life, a tobacco-free school, waste sorting / public space clean, vector control, living well together, access to healthcare, and cultural heritage.

During the ceremony, representatives of each of the schools presented a sample of the work carried out over the year, as part of the labeling program.

The delivery of the certification certificate is a great recognition for the teaching teams but also a source of pride for the students who have fully invested themselves in this process.
