Six People Injured, Including Two Girls, After Woman Loses Control of Stolen Vehicle

Police arrest a driver who lost control of the vehicle she was driving, running onto the sidewalk and striking several pedestrians and striking a funeral home in Upper Manhattan.

Six people were injured, including two girls.

The incident happened around 6 pm Wednesday in the vicinity of Broadway and West 190th Street, according to police.

The car struck four adults and two girls, a two-year-old and a three-year-old, before crashing into the RG Ortiz Funeral Home.

The 34-year-old woman behind the wheel initially ran from the scene but later returned and was taken into custody, according to police.

Authorities say the car was stolen, but it’s unclear if the driver, who told police he is homeless, is the person who stole it.

The driver – Deanna Cimaglia – was driving without a license and has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property, aggravated driving without a license, motor vehicle violation – without a license.
