The focus is now on securing a top-three result that will secure qualification for next season’s Champions League, as the Red Devils welcome relegation-threatened Aston Villa in the northwest.
Villa was beaten 4-0 by Arsenal last time out despite holding off the Gunners for nearly an hour at Banks’s Stadium.
That result leaves them tenth and in the middle of a fight for relegation after scoring ten points in 13 FAWSL games to date, four ahead of Bristol City at the bottom, albeit with one game in hand.
Birmingham City face Arsenal
Birmingham City host Arsenal at St George’s Park in one of three kick-offs at 2pm on March 7.
The Blues have not won in their last five FAWSL games and were on the receiving end of a 4-0 loss to Manchester City last time out.
Carla Ward’s team sits ninth in a very congested bottom half of the table with 11 points from their 12 games to date, and they won’t want that five-point gap between them and Bristol City to narrow any further.
For Arsenal, the focus is on closing the current six-point gap between them and Manchester United in their bid to chase third place and qualify for the Champions League for next season.
The Gunners’ 4-0 win over Aston Villa last time out was followed by back-to-back losses to Manchester City and Chelsea, and they will be eager to continue that winning momentum in Staffordshire.
Brighton & Hove Albion look to continue to improve in form against Tottenham Hotspur
Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the People’s Pension Stadium in Crawley, looking to continue their rise in the FAWSL table.
Hope Powell’s team recorded back-to-back FAWSL victories for the first time after beating West Ham United 1-0 the last time, which followed an incredible 2-1 victory at the title-chasing Chelsea.
Meanwhile, for the Spurs, the bubble apparently burst following the appointment of Rehanne Skinner as head coach, after suffering three consecutive losses, and was recently outscored 3-2 by Everton in an entertaining clash at The Hive.
A win for Brighton would take them 12 points away from Bristol City at the bottom, while a win for the Spurs would see them level on points with the Seagulls along with the added two-game lead in hand over Powell’s side.

Manchester City host Everton at the Academy Stadium, and will look to continue their excellent recent form that has seen them win their last 12 games in all competitions.
That streak includes eight straight FAWSL victories and leaves them just two points behind the leading Chelsea with 36 points from 15 games.
Gareth Taylor’s team was in action in the Champions League midweek after recording a 3-0 victory in the round of 16 first leg over Fiorentina, which followed a 4-0 FAWSL victory in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Everton rebounded from a nonchalant streak with a dramatic 3-2 win over Tottenham, thanks to Manchester City loan winner Jill Scott, just after the hour.
That result leaves the Toffees comfortably in fifth place, but the ten-point gap between them and Manchester United in third place means that qualification for the Champions League seems out of reach.
West Ham United face Chelsea in a London Derby
West Ham United take on Chelsea in a London derby at Chigwell Construction Stadium as they seek to stop a worrying slide that leaves them in 11th place and just two points ahead of bottom Bristol City.
The Hammers have been beaten three times in their last four games and were beaten 1-0 by Brighton the last time on February 10.
Chelsea have responded perfectly to the shocking 2-1 loss to Brighton by winning three straight games in all competitions without conceding a goal.
