The accident happened during the last event of the annual festival “San Fermin Festival” which runs over nine days in the Spanish city of Pamplona. Hundreds of people are said to have taken part in the run, which lasted just over two minutes.
Along with the sea of people ran a herd of oxen – they are the hallmark of the festival. According to the AP, the herd was calm and mostly stayed away from the jogging festival participants. The bulls that participate in the races are later killed by professional bullfighters.
