Between Friday and Sunday there were six accidents involving bicycles and e-bikes in Winterthur ZH. In all cases, the two-wheelers involved were injured.

On Friday, July 8, 2022, shortly before 1 p.m., an e-bike driver drove down Schützenstrasse in the direction of Zürcherstrasse. A car driver driving in the same direction wanted to turn right, missed the bicycle driver and there was a collision. The 42-year-old e-bike rider fell and was slightly injured.
On Saturday morning, July 9, 2022, shortly after 11 a.m., an e-bike rider fell on Wieshofstrasse for reasons that are still unknown. The 78-year-old pensioner had to be taken to hospital with injuries.
Shortly after 6 p.m., a 77-year-old cyclist fell at Bahnhofplatz for reasons that are still unknown. He was also injured and had to be taken to the hospital by the ambulance service.
At 9.45 p.m. there was another accident: a 37-year-old woman rode her bike through Schlosstalstrasse in the direction of Wülflingen. At Schlosstalstrasse 18, she fell, injured herself and had to be taken to the hospital. A breath alcohol test showed that the woman may have been drunk
Investigations into the causes of the accident were undertaken
On the night of Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 1:30 a.m., a collision occurred on Waldeggstrasse between a 66-year-old and a 33-year-old cyclist. The older of the two cyclists suffered moderate injuries and had to be taken to the hospital. The younger was unharmed. The cause of the accident is not yet clear.
On Sunday, shortly before 10.30 a.m., a 22-year-old cyclist fell on the circular road without third parties and also suffered minor injuries.
The Winterthur city police have responded to all cases and have started investigations into the cause of the accident.
