Did you dream of a few days in a small hotel in the south of France or in a yurt in Normandy? Too bad… Because since this Saturday evening, April 3, even your aunt Simone’s hut in the Tronçais forest is too far from Montluçon (Allier). Impossible to go beyond a perimeter of ten kilometers. And this for at least four weeks.

But do we have to give up getting away from it all? Not necessarily?! Walks in the middle of nature on foot or by bike, discovering heritage, places to relax … The Tourist Office of the Valley of the heart of France has agreed to share six ideas to unwind for a few hours around Montluçon.
1. By bike along the Canal de Berry
Has your bike been collecting dust in your garage for ten years ?? Why not take advantage of the confinement to take it out and go for a walk along the Canal de Berry? In particular, you can go to Saint-Victor and continue for a few kilometers. And if you have balance issues, you can always do it on foot.

2. A picnic in a park
The weather is good, the sky is blue… Ideal for a picnic. You have the choice of the place: the Saint-Jean park, the Îlets, the Wilson garden in Montluçon or the Pérelle park in Domérat. And does it even work in your garden ?!
3. On foot to Néris-les-Bains
To stretch your legs, it is possible to take the greenway built on the old Montluçon-Néris-les-Bains railway line. On foot or by bike, you can cross three viaducts: that of Sainte-Agathe, that of Pérassier and finally that of Néris.
4. Discover the Gorges du Cher
Have you never taken the time to discover the Gorges du Cher ?? Direction Lignerolles. On the program: remarkable landscapes and diverse flora and fauna.

5. Let’s take a walk in the woods … of Lavault-Sainte-Anne
Do you want to recharge your batteries in the forest ?? Direction Lavault-Sainte-Anne and the woods of Languistre and? De la Brosse. These two spaces together cover nearly 115 ha, enough to have space to walk around. And since you are in Lavault-Sainte-Anne, you can stop and see the church in the center of town as well as the old La Charité hospital.
6. Take to the heights of Les Réaux
Another place that can be enjoyed within the authorized ten-kilometer perimeter is the Réaux site in Montluçon. Here again the area is perfect for walking or cycling. And in this period, the place is also ideal for observing fauna since it is one of the refuges of the League for the protection of birds.
