The update on the coronavirus epidemiological situation in Castilla y León, which the regional government carries out every 15 days, reflects the death of six people in Palencia.
According to the latest data from the Regional Government, as of yesterday, the total number of deaths with a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 since the pandemic was declared in March 2020 has reached 1,675, when this same figure on August 23 was 1,669. These six people from Palencia died in nursing homes or private homes.
In the last two weeks, no deaths have been recorded at the Río Carrión hospital with a positive diagnosis of the virus. It should be remembered that since the state of alarm was declared, deaths at Caupa with covid have reached 796, the same figure as 15 days ago.
Hospitalisations in wards have not increased either. Although the number of hospitalised patients with a positive result for the pathology was four on 23 August, this figure remains unchanged after the latest update.
The province still has no coronavirus patients in critical care units.
It should be remembered that the report published by the Board every two weeks also includes the total number of deaths (regardless of the cause) since March 2020. Thus, since the state of alarm was declared, a total of 10,410 people have died. Because, of all of them, 1,675 died with a positive result for Covid, it can be determined that this disease has been present in 16 percent of the deceased.
It is important to note that the fact that a person dies with a positive diagnosis does not mean that the virus is the cause of his or her death. The figures include those deceased persons who had a positive PDIA test three months prior to death.
CYLIn the community, the latest data from the administration reflect the discharge of 30 patients with a positive diagnosis of SARS-Cov-2. And if the number of hospitalizations in Castilla y León was 90 people two weeks ago, the latest update shows a decrease to 60.
By province, three patients are in Ávila, all of them in its Healthcare Complex; 14 in Burgos, of which ten are in its University Healthcare Complex, two in the Santiago Apóstol Hospital and another two in Santos Reyes; 11 in the University Healthcare Complex in León; four in the Caupa Hospital in Palencia; 12 in Salamanca; four in the Healthcare Complex in Segovia; two in Soria; eight in Valladolid, four in the clinical hospital and the other four in Río Ortega; and two in the Healthcare Complex in Zamora.
