Six Countries Qualify for the Round of 16 in the 2023 Women’s World Cup

As many as six countries have confirmed qualification for the round of 16 2023 Women’s World CupMonday (31/7) evening.

The 2023 Women’s World Cup which will be held in Australia and New Zealand has entered its third match or final match in the group phase.

Six countries have now been confirmed to qualify for the round of 16. The list of six countries that have qualified for the last 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup are Switzerland, Spain, Japan, Norway, Australia and Nigeria.

Switzerland made sure to qualify for the last 16 after finishing as Group A winners by packing five points from the three matches they played. Switzerland recorded one win and two draws in the group stage.

Then Norway also qualified to accompany Switzerland to the last 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup as runners up in Group A. Norway recorded one win, one draw and one defeat from the three matches played.

Japan has successfully qualified for the last 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup as Group C winners after wiping out three matches with a win. In the last game, Japan successfully slaughtered Spain 4-0, Monday (31/7).

Despite losing to Japan, Spain still qualified for the last 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup as runners up in Group C with six points from three matches.

Hosts Australia also made it through to the round of 16 as Group B winners. Meanwhile, Nigeria qualified as Group B runners up.
