Six countries in the UN called on the Russian Federation not to recognize the “LDNR”

The UN Security Council discussed the situation near the borders of Ukraine

The representative of France stressed that such a move by Moscow would directly violate the “spirit and letter of the Minsk agreements.”

France, Germany, Ireland, Estonia, Albania and Norway during meetings On Thursday, February 17, the UN Security Council appealed to Russia not to recognize the so-called “Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.”

The corresponding statement was made by the representative of France, Nicolas de Riviera. He noted that such a step is contrary to the Minsk agreements.

“We warn that such a move would further violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and directly violate the spirit and letter of the Minsk agreements,” de Riviera stressed.

Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky saidthat Moscow’s recognition of the so-called. “LDNR” is a one-way exit from “Minsk”.
