Salzburg (dpa) – Austria’s soccer champions RB Salzburg have quarantined six of their professionals because of positive corona tests shortly before the start of training. The team of the German coach Matthias Jaissle is the eighth-final opponent of FC Bayern Munich in the Champions League in mid-February. Due to the current Corona situation, the Salzburgers are also doing without the training camp actually planned in Spain and instead preparing at home.
They discussed in detail and “came to the conclusion that we want to avoid any risk and therefore prepare in Salzburg. Here we have the greatest possible planning security and are not dependent on entry and exit guidelines or quarantine regulations from other countries, ”said sports director Christoph Freund.
At the start of training on Saturday, the Salzburgers also missed the German national player Karim Adeyemi (19). The native of Munich was hit, as it was said in a club announcement.
