Six Arab countries announced the introduction of a single tourist visa in 2024 | Abroad

Gulf Cooperation Council states have announced the introduction of a single tourist visa, reminiscent of the Schengen model, in 2024. This is reported by BELTA according to Arabian business.

“Arab Schengen” will be valid for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

“The new unified tourist visa, approved by the interior ministers of these countries, represents a great achievement for the Gulf States,” said Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi.

The introduction of a general tourist visa should have a beneficial effect on the number of people wishing to travel to this region. This is fully in line with the Gulf Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to increase GDP by boosting tourism between countries and increasing hotel occupancy levels.
