Six people were arrested in Holguín accused of having murdered the young Kevin Luis Griñán Reyna, who was found dead over the weekend in a river in Sagua de Tánamo.
According to the Cazador-Cazado profile, linked to the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) already had the six involved in custody, identified as Brian Jesús Breff Columbie, Einer Romero Casas, Dianner López Urquía, Roilan López Romero, José David Osorio and Yoriobis Bravo Breff.
According to the version given by the official profile, the murder was a consequence of a conflict that broke out around 3:00 am last Sunday, April 21, when all the young people were drinking at the ‘El Turquino’ bar.
During this fight, Griñán Reyna reportedly pulled out a knife, but was hit in the head with a bottle, so he fled the scene. He was chased by the group until they reached the banks of the Sagua River, where he was stabbed by the six individuals and thrown into the body of water.
The body was found on Sunday morning, which caused shock among residents of the area.
According to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, all of the detainees are from the El Jobo neighborhood, known for having a history of violence and gangs.
The communicator indicated that the young man’s funeral was attended by a large part of the community, with family and neighbors from the Bazán neighborhood, coming together to say goodbye to the deceased.
