Situation report on the coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/14/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 15,546 analyzes were carried out today and 2,319 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 2,319 new cases, 1,053 are from Montevideo, 381 from Canelones, 133 from Maldonado, 125 from Paysandú, 70 from Tacuarembó, 69 from Colonia, 68 from Rocha, 61 from San José, 57 from Artigas, 55 from Cerro Largo, 48 from Salto, 42 from Río Negro, 39 from Soriano, 32 from Treinta y Tres, 24 from Florida, 19 from Durazno, 19 from Lavalleja, 18 from Rivera, and 6 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,556,998 tests have been processed and 340,818 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 303,880 have already been recovered.

Today 43 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 5,036 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 31,902 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 443 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 8,225 correspond to health personnel. 7,887 of them have already recovered, 313 are suffering from the disease and 25 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATIONS:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 338,513. Today 2,319 new cases and a total of 340,818 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 14 cases were eliminated.

The total number of deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 until yesterday was 4,995. Today 43 deaths and a total of 5,036 deaths will be confirmed. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, “two cases reported as deceased as a result of the epidemiological investigation were known to have died once recovered, so they are not counted in the total.”
