Epidemiological report

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 7410 analyzes were carried out and 519 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 519 new cases, 335 are from Montevideo, 54 from Canelones, 36 from Rivera, 24 from San José, 14 from Tacuarembó, 9 from Lavalleja, 8 from Maldonado, 8 from Salto, 6 from Cerro Largo, 5 from Treinta y Tres , 4 from Durazno, 4 from Florida, 3 from Colonia, 3 from Rocha, 2 from Artigas, 2 from Soriano, 1 from Flores and 1 from Paysandú. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 633,349 tests have been processed and 18,480 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 12,996 have already been recovered.

Today 6 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. These were 2 patients from Canelones aged 64 and 79 years and 4 patients from Montevideo aged 55, 64, 73 and 99 years old. So far there are 174 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5,310 active cases, that is, people who are developing the disease, 74 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 1,161 correspond to health personnel. 988 of them have already recovered, 170 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.

CLARIFICATION: The total of positive cases confirmed until yesterday was 17,962 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19. Today 519 new cases and a total of 18,480 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because a foreign citizen tested positive and returned to his country.
