Epidemiological report

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 7137 analyzes were carried out today and 657 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 657 new cases, 401 are from Montevideo, 79 from Canelones, 55 from Rivera, 28 from Tacuarembó, 23 from Maldonado, 17 from San José, 14 from Durazno, 12 from Florida, 7 from Cerro Largo, 5 from Río Negro, 4 from Rocha, 3 from Artigas, 3 from Colonia, 2 from Lavalleja, 2 from Paysandú, 1 from Salto and 1 from Treinta y Tres. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 625,939 tests have been processed and 17,962 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 12,506 have already been recovered.

Today 8 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from Rivera, 84 years old, 2 patients from Canelones, 41 and 70 years old, and 5 patients from Montevideo, 78, 87, 90, 90 and 95 years old. So far there are 168 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5,288 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 74 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 1,138 correspond to health personnel. 961 of them have already recovered, 174 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.

CLARIFICATION: The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 17,306 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19. Today 657 new cases and a total of 17,962 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because a foreign citizen tested positive and returned to his country.
