Epidemiological report

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 8249 analyzes were carried out and 610 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 610 new cases, 404 are from Montevideo, 91 from Canelones, 24 from Rivera, 16 from Maldonado, 11 from Durazno, 9 from Florida, 9 from San José, 8 from Tacuarembó, 7 from Cerro Largo, 7 from Rocha, 7 from Salto, 5 from Artigas, 4 from Paysandú, 4 from Soriano, 2 from Lavalleja, 1 from Río Negro and 1 from Treinta y Tres. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 552,704 tests have been processed and 12,557 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 8002 have already recovered.

Today 5 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. These were 3 patients from Montevideo, 38, 80 and 86 years old, and 2 patients from Canelones, 88 and 96 years old. So far there are 114 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 4441 active cases, that is, people who are developing the disease, 49 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 937 correspond to health personnel. 705 of them have already recovered, 229 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.

CLARIFICATION: Yesterday the total positive cases confirmed to date was 11,950 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19. Today 610 new cases and a total of 12,557 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 3 foreign citizens tested positive and returned to their countries.
