Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (08/26/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 5,400 analyzes were carried out today and 79 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 79 new cases, 35 are from Montevideo, 14 from Canelones, 8 from Colonia, 5 from Salto, 4 from Rivera, 3 from Maldonado, 3 from Soriano, 2 from Durazno, 2 from Rocha, 1 from Paysandú, 1 from Tacuarembó and 1 of Treinta y Tres.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 3,298,839 tests have been processed and 384,458 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 377,191 have already been recovered.

Today, 3 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (a detailed table is attached). So far, there are 6,025 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 1,242 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 11 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 9,082 correspond to health personnel. 9,014 of them have already recovered, 40 are suffering from the disease and 28 have died.

As of today, all departments register active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 384,392. Today 79 new cases and a total of 384,458 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 13 cases were eliminated.
