Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/06/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 16,215 analyzes were carried out and 3,841 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 3,841 new cases, 1,751 are from Montevideo, 530 from Canelones, 310 from Maldonado, 238 from Paysandú, 184 from Salto, 136 from Tacuarembó, 133 from San José, 106 from Soriano, 101 from Artigas, 82 from Colonia, 51 from Rocha, 46 from Cerro Largo, 43 from Río Negro, 43 from Treinta y Tres, 28 from Durazno, 26 from Lavalleja, 13 from Florida, 11 from Flores and 9 from Rivera.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,399,396 tests have been processed and 316,535 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 275,138 have already been recovered.

Today 57 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 4,640 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

Currently there are 36,757 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 505 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 7,996 correspond to health personnel. 7,603 of them have already recovered, 370 are suffering from the disease and 23 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

• The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 312,703. Today 3,841 new cases and a total of 316,535 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 9 cases were eliminated.
