Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (05/26/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 21,368 analyzes were carried out and 4,586 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 4,586 new cases, 2,120 are from Montevideo, 685 from Canelones, 266 from Salto, 253 from Tacuarembó, 221 from Maldonado, 168 from San José, 158 from Paysandú, 123 from Colonia, 120 from Artigas, 92 from Florida, 88 from Soriano, 63 from Cerro Largo, 49 from Lavalleja, 45 from Rocha, 40 from Río Negro, 37 from Durazno, 32 from Rivera, 18 from Treinta y Tres and 8 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,165,339 tests have been processed and 276,435 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 236,292 have already been recovered.

Today 49 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 4,022 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 36,121 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 507 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 7,602 correspond to health personnel. 7,153 of them have already recovered, 430 are suffering from the disease and 19 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 271,859. Today 4,586 new cases and a total of 276,435 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 10 cases were eliminated.
