Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (04/24/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 13,107 analyzes were carried out and 2,794 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 2,794 new cases, 1,260 are from Montevideo, 373 from Canelones, 137 from Salto, 115 from Maldonado, 109 from San José, 105 from Paysandú, 100 from Colonia, 97 from Rivera, 83 from Florida, 82 from Tacuarembó, 67 from Soriano, 66 from Cerro Largo, 60 from Río Negro, 37 from Artigas, 28 from Rocha, 27 from Lavalleja, 25 from Treinta y Tres and 23 from Durazno.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,720,603 tests have been processed and 182,326 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 151,669 have already been recovered.

Today 56 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (a detailed table is attached). So far, there are 2,283 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 28,374 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 519 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 6,431 correspond to health personnel. 5,994 of them have already recovered, 423 are suffering from the disease and 14 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 179,537. Today 2,794 new cases and a total of 182,326 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 5 cases were eliminated.
