Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (04/16/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 13,496 analyzes were carried out today and 3,077 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.
Of the 3,077 new cases, 1,526 are from Montevideo, 410 from Canelones, 138 from Maldonado, 126 from Artigas, 103 from Paysandú, 97 from Cerro Largo, 89 from Rivera, 87 from Salto, 85 from Río Negro, 68 from San José, 63 from Colonia, 59 from Soriano, 59 from Tacuarembó, 46 from Lavalleja, 39 from Rocha, 29 from Durazno, 28 from Florida, 18 from Treinta y Tres and 7 from Flores. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,607,709 tests have been processed and 159,569 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 126,119 have already been recovered.

Today 62 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 1,788 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 31,662 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 516 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 6,095 correspond to health personnel. 5,461 of them have already recovered, 625 are suffering from the disease and 8 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 156,499. Today 3,077 new cases and a total of 159,569 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 7 cases were eliminated.
