Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (04/12/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 11,720 analyzes were carried out today and 2,564 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 2,564 new cases, 1,251 are from Montevideo, 307 from Canelones, 113 from Artigas, 95 from Cerro Largo, 89 from Colonia, 89 from San José, 86 from Tacuarembó, 80 from Rivera, 72 from Soriano, 68 from Salto, 67 from Río Negro, 55 from Paysandú, 53 from Florida, 42 from Maldonado, 30 from Treinta y Tres, 28 from Rocha, 17 from Durazno, 13 from Lavalleja,
and 9 from Flores. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,544,232 tests have been processed and 147,173 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 113,125 have already been recovered.

Today 71 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far there are 1,533 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 32,515 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 494 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 5,844 correspond to health personnel. 5,133 of them have already recovered, 703 are suffering from the disease and 8 have died.
As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:
The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 144,642. Today 2,564 new cases and a total of 147,173 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 33 cases were eliminated.
