Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (04/10/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 15,345 analyzes were carried out today and 3,470 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 3,470 new cases, 1826 are from Montevideo, 441 from Canelones, 138 from Maldonado, 130 from Rivera, 96 from Colonia, 87 from Salto, 83 from Soriano, 82 from Tacuarembó, 78 from Artigas, 77 from San José, 76 from Florida, 75 from Paysandú, 64 from Treinta y Tres, 56 from Cerro Largo, 54 from Río Negro, 46 ​​from Lavalleja, 29 from Rocha, 23 from Durazno and 9 from Flores. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,519,522 tests have been processed and 141,380 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 104,434 have already been recovered.

Today, 52 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far there are 1,414 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 35,532 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 471 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 5,142 correspond to health personnel. 5,686 of them have already recovered, 759 are suffering from the disease and 8 have died.
As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATIONS:

• The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 137,946. Today 3,470 new cases and a total of 141,380 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 36 cases were eliminated.
• The total number of deceased persons diagnosed with COVID-19 until yesterday was 1,363. Today 52 deaths are reported and a total of 1,414 deceased persons diagnosed with COVID-19. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, one case was erroneously reported as positive by the laboratory.
