Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (04/05/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 10,912 analyzes were carried out today and 647 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 647 new cases, 230 are from Montevideo, 77 from Canelones, 54 from Paysandú, 45 from Colonia, 41 from San José, 38 from Salto, 35 from Maldonado, 35 from Rivera, 26 from Soriano, 12 from Durazno, 12 from Lavalleja, 10 from Flores, 9 from Artigas, 6 from Río Negro, 6 from Rocha, 5 from Treinta y Tres, 4 from Florida and 2 from Tacuarembó. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, they have been processed 1,442,803 tests and 119,958 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 94,042 have already recovered.

Today 45 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far there are 1,146 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 24,770 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 404 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 5,244 correspond to health personnel. 4,564 of them have already recovered, 673 are suffering from the disease and 7 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:
The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 117,757. Today 647 new cases and a total of 119,958 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 1,562 cases reported out of date by laboratories were included according to the tables attached below (source: MSP), and on the other hand, because 8 cases were eliminated.
